January 29, 2024 – HARRISBURG, PA – Mette, Evans & Woodside is thrilled to announce that Attorney Dominic Giovanniello has been appointed as an Assembly Delegate to represent Pennsylvania at the American Bar Association’s (“ABA”) Young Lawyers’ Division Assembly during the ABA Mid-Year Meeting in February in Louisville, KY, and the Annual Meeting in August in Chicago, Illinois.
The ABA Young Lawyers’ Division Assembly is the apex policy-making body of the division, and Dominic’s role as a Delegate is significant. In this capacity, he will actively contribute to the drafting and presentation of proposed policies for the ABA YLD, subsequently participating in the voting process for these policies. Dominic is among the distinguished 12 delegates chosen to represent Pennsylvania.
The policies brought forth in the Assembly originate from resolutions, reflecting innovative ideas aimed at enhancing the legal profession, the practice of law, and the broader legal landscape. Twice a year at the YLD Assembly, these policies undergo a comprehensive process of presentation, review, debate, and voting, with a special emphasis on proposals that uniquely impact young lawyers and the YLD. Upon receiving majority approval, a policy becomes an officially adopted YLD policy. In certain cases, adopted policies may advance to the ABA House of Delegates as proposed resolutions, potentially shaping broader ABA policy.
