Biography

Aaron Martin represents clients in state and federal courts throughout Pennsylvania. His experience extends to civil, criminal and administrative proceedings, including the representation of private citizens and businesses before various units of government.

Aaron’s notable cases in the area of civil rights and constitutional law include Marcavage v. Rendell, establishing that an amendment to Pennsylvania’s Ethnic Intimidation statute violated the Pennsylvania Constitution, Stilp v. Contino, holding that a secrecy provision in the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act violated the First Amendment, Schrader v. Sunday, similarly holding that a provision in the Child Protective Services Law violated the First Amendment, and Doe v. Schorn, declaring a criminal sanction in Pennsylvania’s Educator Discipline Act unconstitutional. In criminal matters he has secured non-prosecution agreements, pre-trial dismissals, and jury acquittals.

Aaron additionally advises clients in the areas of real estate, zoning, construction and contract law. He has counseled fiduciaries and beneficiaries in a wide variety of trust and estate matters and represented clients in disputes over business ownership and control. He has advised and represented clients with matters before various state agencies, including the Pennsylvania Ethics Commission, Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Professional Standards and Practices Commission. He also represents clients in matters adverse to the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General.

Aaron has lectured on legal topics in various forums, including the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel University, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, and before community groups.

Aaron obtained a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, as a National Merit Scholar. He obtained his Juris Doctor from the Penn State Dickinson School of Law where he was published in the Dickinson Law Review. He also spent a year studying international economics and comparative literature at Paris University Nanterre in the French university system.
