Biography
Marisa Swartley is a versatile litigator with a primary focus on representing plaintiffs in high-stakes personal injury and medical malpractice cases. She is committed to providing strategic, client-centered advocacy and brings extensive trial experience to her practice. Her work encompasses a wide range of civil, criminal, and administrative matters, including contractual and business disputes, traffic offenses, zoning hearings, arbitration, family and child welfare proceedings, and multiple trials, including homicide. Dedicated to defending constitutional rights, she has also represented clients in matters involving civil rights violations and malicious prosecution.
Marisa graduated from Widener University Commonwealth Law School, where she earned a Business Advising Certificate with an emphasis in cybersecurity and privacy law. While attending Widener, her academic excellence was recognized with a CALI Award in Pennsylvania Civil Practice, and she served as a member of the Appellate Advocacy Honor Society and the Business Law Society. She also externed with the Pennsylvania Department of State’s Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, gaining critical regulatory insight. During law school, Marisa balanced work as a law clerk and as a server at the Country Club of Harrisburg while maintaining full-time student status, demonstrating her ambition and work ethic.
Prior to law school, Marisa worked at the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office and earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Temple University. She is an active member of the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court, as well as the Pennsylvania and Dauphin County Bar Associations. Outside of her legal practice, Marisa is a devoted Philadelphia Eagles fan, an animal lover, and enjoys traveling and crocheting.
