Biography
Gladys is a naturally curious and diligent transactional attorney who focuses her practice on commercial finance, banking, business, and real estate law. She represents financial institutions and business clients in a variety of transactional matters, including commercial lending and loan documentation, loan modifications and restructurings, secured transactions, business entity formation and governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract drafting, and real estate transactions. Gladys also assists public entities with municipal bond and tax-exempt financing matters. She works closely with her clients to understand their goals and provides practical, thoughtful legal counsel tailored to each transaction.
Before joining Mette, Gladys worked in the Pennsylvania Governor’s Office of General Counsel within the Department of Human Services, where she gained experience involving Medical Assistance programs and Pennsylvania’s state-supervised child welfare system. Prior to law school, she also worked in commercial real estate research and market analysis and in the financial technology industry. Gladys draws on these varied experiences to approach legal issues from both a legal and practical perspective.
Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Gladys earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Virginia Commonwealth University before relocating to Harrisburg, where she earned her Juris Doctor from Widener University Commonwealth Law School. While in law school, she served as Internal Managing Editor of the Widener Law Review and finished first in her class in Contracts and Torts. She was also the recipient of the Bruce M. and Elizabeth M. Monroe Intellectual Property Scholarship.
Gladys is a member of the Dauphin County Bar Association and the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Outside of her legal practice, she enjoys supporting professional women’s soccer, attending sporting events, reading, discovering new restaurants, watching reality television, and spending time with friends and family
