Biography
Elyse’s area of concentration include estate planning, business planning, wealth transfer and estate and trust administration. She assists clients in addressing a broad range of planning needs – from simple wills and powers of attorney to complex estate, trust and wealth transfer matters. Elyse also assists in the administration of estate and trusts, both complex and simple. She is particularly well equipped to deal with the federal and state tax issues that arise both with planning and with administration of estates and trusts.
Elyse has been listed Best Lawyers in America© since 1995 and has been named six times as Harrisburg or Central Pennsylvania Lawyer of the Year: for Trusts and Estates in 2011 and 2019; for Litigation – Trusts & Estates in 2014; and for Tax Law in 2015, 2017 and 2021. Only one lawyer in each specialty in each community is so honored each year. In 2022, Elyse was named a “Super Lawyer”.
Elyse has lectured extensively and has authored many materials addressing various tax, trust, estate, wealth transfer, and business matters for professional continuing legal and other educational organizations, including the Pennsylvania Bar Institute, the Pennsylvania Bankers association, and various Estate Planning Councils. She is a former adjunct professor at the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, teaching Federal Estate and Gift Tax.
In 1997, Elyse was presented with the President’s Award of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. She has also received two Special Achievement Awards from that organization for her efforts to develop and finalize the comprehensive Interests on Lawyers Trust Accounts Program in Pennsylvania and for tax advice and guidance to the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Foundation, and the Pennsylvania Bar Institute. She was named one of Pennsylvania’s 50 Best Women in Business for 2000 by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
Elyse served as a trustee of the Pennsylvania Bar Trust Fund and Pennsylvania Bar Insurance Fund. She is a Fellow of The Pennsylvania Bar Foundation and served on that Board. She was a member of the Planning Committee of the Pennsylvania State University Annual Tax Conference.
