Penn State Law and FGLSA (First-Generation Law Student Association) recently presented ‘Navigating the field as a First-Generation Lawyer’ at its campus in University Park, PA. The event featured three first-generation practicing lawyers, including Attorney Straub, an Associate Attorney at Mette, Evans & Woodside. Engaged students participated in discussions on topics like entering and navigating law school as a first-generation student and transitioning to a law firm afterward as well as networking, building relationships with both mentors and peers, and job seeking.
FGLSA aims to create an inclusive community for first-generation law students by providing targeted educational programming, networking opportunities, and mentorship programs to aid its members in guiding the legal field.
