Thomas F. Smida
Attorney Thomas F. Smida is a shareholder in the firm's Municipal Finance practice group and has extensive experience as bond counsel representing Pennsylvania counties, townships, boroughs, school districts and municipal authorities in various types of public financings. Additionally, he had represented national and state chartered banks and financial institutions in their roles as lenders and letter of credit providers.
In his years of practice in public finance, Mr. Smida has represented clients in financings with the Pennsylvania Economic Development Finance Authority, the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority, the United States Department of Agriculture, Rural Utilities Services, pooled financing programs, variable rate convertible debt, interest rate swap agreements, forward purchase delivery agreements and other financial derivative products.
Within the firm, Mr. Smida also serves as co-chairman of the Asset Preservation practice group. He has also represented individuals and businesses in tax controversies before the Internal Revenue Service and in a variety of business transactions.
Mr. Smida is actively involved in community activities as a member of the Rotary Club of Colonial Park and the Lower Paxton Township Republican Committee.
