During his 20 years in the wastewater treatment consulting industry, Randy Hurst developed an interest in the regulatory aspect of the field, which led him to pursue his law degree. His real world experience, coupled with his in-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and policies provides clients with unparalleled legal representation.

Focusing his practice on environmental, public utility and land use, he now represents individuals and municipalities dealing with environmental and land use issues. Randy is dedicated to helping clients understand their responsibilities and how to best navigate complex regulations and policies.

Randy has authored many articles on various aspects of wastewater treatment, water quality standards and professionalism. He has also presented on a variety of topics including storm water management, industrial pretreatment programs, water quality standards, emergency preparedness at water and wastewater treatment plants, and state standards for water and wastewater plant operators.

The Pennsylvania Water Environment Association presented Randy with several prestigious awards including the Walter A. Lyon Purity of Waters Award for his extraordinary service and commitment to the protection of Pennsylvania waters, the Ted Moses High Hat award for service and the Ted Haseltine Award for contributions to wastewater technical knowledge. He was also awarded the Red Davis Award of Service by the Pennsylvania Municipal Authorities Association and the David H. Schulte Memorial Personnel Advancement Award by the Eastern Pennsylvania Water Pollution Control Operators Association.

Randy is a graduate of Michigan State University and received a Master's degree in Environmental Pollution Control from the Pennsylvania State University. While attending Widener University School of Law, he was awarded the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court Award for Excellence in Administrative Law. He received his Juris Doctor magna cum laude from Widener.

Randy's interests outside of the office range from eco-friendly travel to pet rescue programs. He is a member of the Three Mile Island Scooter Club, which promotes motor scooters as an economical means of travel. He also supports the Bunny People, a rescue organization for pet rabbits.
