Heather Z. Kelly
Ms. Kelly began her career as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Honorable Sylvia H. Rambo, United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Mette, Evans & Woodside, she worked at a large regional law firm and a local non-profit organization.
Ms. Kelly practices in the firm's Creditors' Rights, Bankruptcy, Banking and Litigation Groups. She represents financial institutions and other creditors, as well as financially distressed individuals and small businesses, in negotiating forbearance agreements and loan modifications, private and public sales of collateral, commercial and consumer collection matters, residential mortgage foreclosures, and bankruptcy matters. Ms. Kelly's bankruptcy practice involves serving clients in conjunction with the initial 341 meeting of creditors, motions for relief from stay, automatic stay violations, negotiating and preparing stipulations, preparing and objecting to proofs of claims, and litigating adversary proceedings.
Ms. Kelly's significant state, federal and administrative litigation experience includes contract disputes, bank fraud and lender liability matters, professional negligence actions, employment discrimination and wage payment cases, claims involving trade secrets and non-compete agreements, trust and estate litigation, unfair trade practices and consumer protection matters, property disputes, and injunction actions.
Ms. Kelly is admitted to practice in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania and the Third Circuit Court of Appeals.
She is active in the local community, currently serving as the co-chair of the 20/20 Vision Campaign Committee for Brethren Housing Association, a non-profit organization that serves homeless families in Harrisburg.
